Growing up as a child, my mother ALWAYS baked daily - breads, cookies, cakes - you name it. I did not want for any carbohydrates, which explains alot.... There is nothing like the smell of freshly baked goods wafting from the oven...nothing compares!
When Mom moved in with me, I promised her I would try to have homemade bread on hand for her (and me!) , as well. So twice a month, I bake bread. And life is good!

I love the smell of home baked bread and eating it too. You have certainly mastered the art. Now you have all that goodness without any additives. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteLove homemade bread and yours looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteYum, homemade bread, great pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes... the smell of fresh baking is divine. We bake our own bread, every other day - and old style (the machine will mix the dough, but it is being formed and baked in the oven, 'free-form' style :) we love crust and the bread machine didn't deliver for our needs).
ReplyDeleteOh, the endless possibilities that lie in baking,...Mmmmm!!
ReplyDeleteLove your take on the prompt! Bread can be plain or fancy, it's what you make of it!
ReplyDeletethere is nothing better than homemade bread *sigh* wonderful photos - wish i could scratch and sniff :)

ReplyDeleteGreat "possibilities" idea!
I have the most wonderful memories of my Oma baking bread every Saturday. The smell is the best. Happy to hear you are back to baking bread. It's a wonderful tradition.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love the smell of fresh baked bread. My mother never baked bread but my aunt did. I never learned to bake bread either but I do use my bread machine every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteYum! I love home baked bread- I can practically smell this.
ReplyDeleteHi to the Fearless Lady!
ReplyDeleteWow, I could smell that bread! :)
We dont usually bake bread in India, but sincec I had my scooling in a convent school, run by foreign missionaries, and we had many nuns in the Boarding under the school, who were westerners, and since it was a very very old school, they had a traditional oven and baking system. Every evening when we walk through the corridors of the school we could smell the freshly baked bread. But later in life always always when I smell fresh baked bread, it takes me to that lovely cozy school corridors of sprouting teenage dreams and blooming friendships!! Thankyou for sharing!
Great photos of the bread making machine. I love my Kitchen Aid mixer. I also love home made bread and am reminded of my mother who made bread. In fact, I didn't have store bought bread until I was in my teens. I think I could easily survive with nothing else but homemade bread. Yours looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBaking bread is the best on so many levels! Your bread looks great!
ReplyDeleteFor a baker, the mixer really holds endless opportunities. There is nothing that compares to the smell of homemade goodness in the oven!
