Hay for the Horses

Back in May of this year, I wrote a post about a rescue organization that is very near and dear to my heart - Miracle Horse Rescue (MHR).  The sanctuary - run by the nicest and most compassionate people you ever want to meet, Stephanie and Rob Pierce - is located in Pahrump, Nevada, outside of Las Vegas.   After supporting MHR for a decade, I finally had the pleasure of visiting last February.

MHR is a federally-recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to the preservation and welfare of abused, neglected, and unwanted domesticated horses of all types and conditions.  Some of the stories they have shared are simply heartbreaking.  As MHR is a very small organization - run by only 2 people who have literally dedicated their entire lives to helping these horses- I want to help as much as I can.

So, from September 13, 2013 through October 31, 2013, I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of my Etsy shop to MHR.  To further entice you to start your Holiday shopping or buy something for yourself, I am offering huge discounts!  My sale prices will be already be reflected for each item.  Here is the low down I am offering:

9/13/2013 - 9/20/2013    - SAVE 30%
9/21/2013 - 9/27/2013    - SAVE 25%
9/28/2013 - 10/11/2013  - SAVE 20%
10/12/2013 - 10/18/2013 - SAVE 15%
10/19/2013 - 10/31/2013 - SAVE 10%

Again - 100% of all proceeds will be donated to this wonderful organization!  Please help me to help these gorgeous furbabies!

I will be having giveaways (plural!) during this time frame...I want to garner as much attention to this cause that I can, so stay tuned!

Feel free to visit Miracle Horse Rescue on their Facebook page (link here) or their website (link here).

Thank you!

Patti

  4. Good Morning from Miracle Horse Rescue & Sanctuary.

We cannot thank Patti enough for her generosity. Our Hay prices are not the norm as to what it is in other regions of the U.S. We pay between $18.00 and $22.00 per pay and with 34 horses to feed it takes a great deal. We do not feed substandard hay as many of our residents before they came to us had no idea if they were even going to eat. So many were physically abused, but with time we were able to help them break through their shells. Though you may not be able to see some of the scars on the outside, they are there. It has taken us almost 13 years to make a break through with one of horses, he was a starved and beaten 3 year old, but today he is remarkable showing his gratitude when we feed by laying his head on our shoulders as if in a hug to say thank you.
I could go on and on about our horses, but with this said, not only do we have extreme gratitude for Patti and what she is doing, but we would like to Thank Each and Everyone for your participation and kindness. Patti's jewelry is the BOMB and I know, because I wore a pair of her earrings to our son's wedding this past August and not only did I receive compliments, but I was asked where I got them... So Many many thanks!
