This week's prompt from Sally Russick's "Focus on Life Challenge" is to Create Art. While I do consider my self somewhat creative, the mediums in which I dabble are limited. I do not draw - I do sketch jewelry designs occasionally, but they tend to fall in to the category of doodles. I do not own paints - though many years ago, I painted bisque ceramics (this art form came from my mother). I do not own a journal - correction - I own several journals filled with completely blank pages. I have not picked up a crochet hook in MONTHS ... and I miss it. But at this point in my life, my jewelry is my way expressing my art.
I did not want to bore you with tons of pics, so here is a collage of just a portion of what I have created this week.
In addition to my newest love - Jasper - there are lots of artbeads above, including lampwork from Kerry Bogert, Outwest, Unicorne, JavaBead, and SueBeads. Have I mentioned I love lampwork beads???
I am still very much involved in Kerry Bogert's Aspire to Wire e-class - a new wire project every day for 30 days. I open my emails at 5:30 am and BAM - a new project that I cannot wait to try!
Head on over to The Studio Sublime to follow the links of this week's Challenge participants.
Thanks so much for stopping by - I love to read your comments!
WOW....you have been busy....beautiful work. Wish I had known about the wire e-course. Looks like such fun.ReplyDelete
Oh Patricia...don't you ever again start any post or conversation with I am not this, I don't do that :)ReplyDelete
I love the earrings in the top right!
Ooops...sorry, I meant Patti, not Patricia!ReplyDelete
Wow, that would make a great inspiration poster! Off to check out the other participants.ReplyDelete
You sure have been busy!!! That big pendant with the frame is way cool...lovely work! And I have about a zillion blank journals too....a whole drawer full of them!! One day I will fill them up!!! xo!ReplyDelete
So who needs to write about such beautiful creations. They speak for themselves. Find a teenager and give the journals to her.ReplyDelete
You made all these pieces this week?! I'm impressed. I'm impressed by the jewelry, too! Beautiful!ReplyDelete
Patti, those are all wonderful. You have certainly been busy! Wire wrapping is such an art n and of itself and you have certainly perfected it.ReplyDelete
They look great.ReplyDelete
My goodness you are so prolific! You really have a way at making all that glass look so lovely. I too am just loving Kerry's course, I love it all, I just am missing things here and there to get going.ReplyDelete
Patty, your work is gorgeous - I love each and every one. Kerry's course is filled with beauty - I see that from all you and a few others share; you make me sorry to have missed its deadline :)ReplyDelete
Love your art beads too! thanks for sharing!
Your designs are all unique and beautiful. Your wire work is superior. I am taking Kerry's wire course too but hard to keep up.ReplyDelete
Oh my, what beautiful pieces you created this week. I don't draw either, but I doodled for this week's challenge!ReplyDelete
I am amazed that you can make so many beautiful pieces in a week. Truly art!! I am also amazed at your ability to write such relevant comments on all of our posts. I always look forward to reading what you will say.ReplyDelete

i figure, no matter how we express our creativity, we're making art!

[no 19 - i overslept!]
Prolific! Pretty things are so fun. I haven't crocheted in ages, either. I have all this yarn staring me in the face. You'd think I'd give into the guilt of it's sad eyes looking all bored in its baskets, but, no. I'm going to have coffee and look at blogs! haaaaaaaaaaaReplyDelete
I think these are wonderful!! Great use of lampwork- I do love it too! Thanks for sharing!ReplyDelete
My, you have been busy this week making some wonderful creations. Looks like you are doing what you love.ReplyDelete
Patty, Love your lampwork composition. Also, you should receive super kudos for being such a conscientious blog participant, leaving comments for us all. I don't know how you manage - I have trouble making my way through the whole list. The Aspire to Wire eclass sounds wonderful - it looks like you could teach it!ReplyDelete
Love your new pieces! Beautiful, artistic work!ReplyDelete
Wonderfulness!!! It looks like you had an amazing weekend. :) I must have the same journals you do. :)ReplyDelete
Beautiful Creative Art pieces that one can wear. To me those are the best kinds of art. I see that you are taking your wire lessons to heart and doing a great job. I like the Jasper pendant that you framed with a free hanging wire frame.
Holy smokes! you have been busy! such gorgeous eye candy ... and yes this is your artistic outlet - that you a so very good at!!ReplyDelete
Oh my! Such beauty! Your wire work is amazing!ReplyDelete
Your jewelry is definitely beautiful art Patti. You are very talented and creative.ReplyDelete
Beautiful! And, you've been busy!!ReplyDelete
(I'm #41 this week)
Looks like your creative muse is on fire! I especially love those rectangle earrings!ReplyDelete
Wow Patti, no wonder you don't have time for anything else! I wonder that you've had time to sleep! :)ReplyDelete
Sharing your love of Jasper and of lampworked beads.
Love all your art jewelry pieces - they are awesome! I just can't believe you created all that this week, you are an inspiration, let me tell you!! Love the photo collage, too - it's fun.ReplyDelete
Whoo Hoo, you've been busy!! As always, your creations are wonderful!! I'm a sucker for lampwork bead too, but I TRY to curtail purchasing too many for the sake of my tiny budget. And gemstones were my first love and I've kind of gotten away from using them--which needs to change.ReplyDelete
Jasper is addictive indeed - nature creating art. My lampwork stash is almost embarrassing.ReplyDelete
What a talented and prolific artisan you are! Your jewelry is absolutely beautiful. Love.ReplyDelete
Oh my Patti - your pieces are stunning! Love that you have that e-course and you are trying fun and fanstastic things! I love those long rectangle earrings - scrumptious!ReplyDelete

Ditto Kashmira! Your pieces look great and it is never boring to see a lot of photos on a blog. I have the same journals too!!ReplyDelete
Patty, Your collage is great. You have crertainly been busy. It looks like Kerry's class is one I should have taken. Oh well maybe next time.ReplyDelete
Patty, you have been seriously busy behind the scenes creating all sorts of beautiful things! What a great collage and such pretty new pieces of jewelry!ReplyDelete
Oops...so sorry about the misspelling, PATTI!! :-0ReplyDelete
Sweet woman, please toss out the idea that you need to have your fingers in several pies at once to be considered 'creative'. You are just more focused than the rest of us! :) I can't even begin to tell you how special I felt when I put that gorgeous bracelet on my arm! I immediately headed to my closet to pick out my Sunday outfit, because it needed to match that bracelet! Wirework is not my forte, but I do know excellent wirework when I see it, and it is such a joy to see yours. Thank you so very much!ReplyDelete
Holy moly, did you ever create art! What a stunning collection! I am in love with the earrings-all of them. Creating art can be defined in a number of ways! :)ReplyDelete
First of all Patti, let me just say, I am NEVER bored with lots of pics. I actually clicked to enlarge the collage to better see all the pieces which are gorgeous by the way. Your wire wrapping skills are beautiful and you have a great sense of design.ReplyDelete
Me too! I enlarge every photo so that I can really enjoy it to the fullest. Your designs and the implementation of the designs are grand! What a pleasure to visit here!ReplyDelete
Gorgeous Patti! Great wirework! Looks like you are having fun!ReplyDelete
Beautiful...I hope to take her class the next time around. Have a great week!ReplyDelete
Patti! Do NOT put your self down about not doing this or that, it's not that you can't or don't do it, you DO do ART!! These little works of wire art are GORGEOUS! Your wrapped loops and coils are perfect!!!ReplyDelete
I am so with you Miss Patti! I love all art pursuits and own the supplies for most of them but yet I don't do any of them! I just picked up a complete set of gouache paints and so I had to get a canvas. And I don't even know what gouache means! Hopefully I will find out. You have been mighty busy creating your wearable art that is beautiful! And I agree about Kerry's class. Super inspiring. I am collecting them all to jump in when I have the time. Enjoy the day. ErinReplyDelete
Great to know the -- in depth from this blog. This will really help for my forward steps to be taken.ReplyDelete
