Focus on Life - 4/52

This week's prompt from Sally Russick's "Focus on Life Challenge" is to Create Art.  While I do consider my self somewhat creative, the mediums in which I dabble are limited.  I do not draw - I do sketch jewelry designs occasionally, but they tend to fall in to the category of doodles.  I do not own paints - though many years ago, I painted bisque ceramics (this art form came from my mother).  I do not own a journal - correction - I own several journals filled with completely blank pages.  I have not picked up a crochet hook in MONTHS ... and I miss it.  But at this point in my life, my jewelry is my way expressing my art.

I did not want to bore you with tons of pics, so here is a collage of just a portion of what I have created this week.

In addition to my newest love - Jasper - there are lots of artbeads above, including lampwork from Kerry Bogert, Outwest, Unicorne, JavaBead, and SueBeads.  Have I mentioned I love lampwork beads???

I am still very much involved in Kerry Bogert's Aspire to Wire e-class - a new wire project every day for 30 days.  I open my emails at 5:30 am and BAM - a new project that I cannot wait to try!

Head on over to The Studio Sublime to follow the links of this week's Challenge participants.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I love to read your comments!

  6. So who needs to write about such beautiful creations. They speak for themselves. Find a teenager and give the journals to her.

  21. Hi Patti,
Beautiful Creative Art pieces that one can wear. To me those are the best kinds of art. I see that you are taking your wire lessons to heart and doing a great job. I like the Jasper pendant that you framed with a free hanging wire frame.

  29. Whoo Hoo, you've been busy!! As always, your creations are wonderful!! I'm a sucker for lampwork bead too, but I TRY to curtail purchasing too many for the sake of my tiny budget. And gemstones were my first love and I've kind of gotten away from using them--which needs to change.

  39. Sweet woman, please toss out the idea that you need to have your fingers in several pies at once to be considered 'creative'. You are just more focused than the rest of us! :) I can't even begin to tell you how special I felt when I put that gorgeous bracelet on my arm! I immediately headed to my closet to pick out my Sunday outfit, because it needed to match that bracelet! Wirework is not my forte, but I do know excellent wirework when I see it, and it is such a joy to see yours. Thank you so very much!

  40. Holy moly, did you ever create art! What a stunning collection! I am in love with the earrings-all of them. Creating art can be defined in a number of ways! :)

  41. First of all Patti, let me just say, I am NEVER bored with lots of pics. I actually clicked to enlarge the collage to better see all the pieces which are gorgeous by the way. Your wire wrapping skills are beautiful and you have a great sense of design.

  42. Me too! I enlarge every photo so that I can really enjoy it to the fullest. Your designs and the implementation of the designs are grand! What a pleasure to visit here!

  44. Beautiful...I hope to take her class the next time around. Have a great week!

  45. Patti! Do NOT put your self down about not doing this or that, it's not that you can't or don't do it, you DO do ART!! These little works of wire art are GORGEOUS! Your wrapped loops and coils are perfect!!!

  46. I am so with you Miss Patti! I love all art pursuits and own the supplies for most of them but yet I don't do any of them! I just picked up a complete set of gouache paints and so I had to get a canvas. And I don't even know what gouache means! Hopefully I will find out. You have been mighty busy creating your wearable art that is beautiful! And I agree about Kerry's class. Super inspiring. I am collecting them all to jump in when I have the time. Enjoy the day. Erin
